I think you guys should all support this suggestion if you ever read Dawson's thread "Remember originality". Here are two excellent examples of custom menus used in other fan games: Apparently we are going to make a completely different menu screen for HOF. How about an Iphone-style menu screen like the one below(Also note that we can't carry out this project without the help of spriters)? Please post your idea for custom menu screen in this thread.

It could work. We would definatly need concept art though.

I will aid in this, although I would like some concept art first. A basic sketch, dimensions needed, and color ideas would really help. With that in mind, lets make that interface

iPod?! hell no!
An idea that i was using in g5, but maybe you can use this idea; an all inclusive menue, that scrolls up and down in a ring-like fashion?

Jonny, an Iphone is not the same with an Ipod. The reason why I post this idea here is that I'd like to listen to your opinions. I can definitely change the menu into another style if you're not happy with it.

Well, first off, it would require a mouse system to give the best efect, and this would be odd without a mouse system being in the game itself, as part of gameplay. The second thing is that it will not look very pleasing when a giant iPod Touch/iPhone pops up i think it is not in the pokemon-esque theme that you (not to metion moose) are aiming for.
dont take it out for me though, make a poll, giveing many options.

I think we should go with a 100% new menu. Something that is all ours and unique.

There are scripts add-ons to enable Mouse system to be used in any games: www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18648www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=204www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11785Remember I'm just proposing a possibility for the custom menu screen and I'd really love to listen to everyone's opinions. The Iphone idea is not a must, and it would be better if we work together and figure out an even better one.

How about an all inclusive totally decked out version of the PokeGear? This could be a core component of the game. New menu options could become available as upgrades to the software of the PokeGear? All menu options could be done through this. And old menu options can be upgraded as well, like a more detailed version of the Pokemon view menu.
Hmm... Items would have to be digital... Idk. Its kinda a spur of the moment idea that hasn't been thought out.

I agree with Jonny about the ring system. I also think that we should have one so that it is kind of similar to the first one displayed, or we can have something pop out from the side that rotates vertically for more choices (which will hopefully be icons instead of words).

The problem with a ring system that is just a menu, is the fact its nothing really clever. Its just a simple menu that I could throw up in a couple of minutes. The idea of the pokegear gets people to think more about what they can do with it. And yes Jonny, pretty much all menu options would be separate apps on their own.
