This system is way too complicated and it'll disrupt balance to disrepair. If we make any changes to mechanics like stats and moves, the goal should always be to make things MORE balanced, not less.

okay, i didn't explain the system fully, that is just the was the moves are categorized.
the battle will work using a completely new way. Its more FF than Pokemon, but i care not for moose's verdict on that; it works using an ATG, active time gauge. This is a system that charges a bar, and when full, actions may take place. But there are many variations, and this is how mine works; The ATB will charge faster or slower depending on the Pokemon's speed, and many other factors, including cirten items.
Once the bar is chaged, it is stord as a 'Link', the amount of links will go up with levels, reching a maximmum of ten, one for every ten levels. The amount of links can be prematurity boosted to a maximum of 15, using items and effects of moves. The links, once charged, can preform a move, but, to be more strategic, the players can store links to form a 'Chain'. Chains can be used in succession, meaning a series of moves become a large combo. Furthermore, the player, during Double Battles, can create a 'Double Chain' This can result in an attack working with another to result in a multi-typed powerful attack. An example would be a Hydro pump, combined with a Thunder attack. But this will be limited to logical moved, so no Rock lightning attacks. The chains will also be used by the CPU, and, when used strategically, you can end up taking a move, dodging the counter attacks, and attack one more. This leave the opponent open, and if you keep a chain going successfully, the chance of a hit will be lower, but more powerful.
The ATG may charge the links, but the player can attack at any time, however, if there are no links, and the ATG is no charged, the lower it is, the less powerful and fast the attack.
I my have forgotten some bits, but that should be enough to know what i mean. Its a more realistic approach to me, if you take the ATG to be stamina.
