This is exactly why we are doing kanto revision and orange islands fakemon...
Besides, I must say that there's more than one way to make a game original, not just by setting up a different battle system.

i see his point, because there are a lot of n00bs that want to make games. hell, i know i'm one of them. but what happens when youre a veteran member like he is, is that hes lost perspective of what it was like to be new at this. but im sure it gets so annoying seeing so many people go "im gonna make the next big game its gonna have every region and 600 new pokemon and all the legendaries and youre all gonna love it forever." so, i dont blame him lol.
recreating new versions of older material really isnt original or unique, because so many people have done it. but theres often little else you can do. thats why i wanted to make a game like Dark Ages, set in a totally different time period from pokemon as the fans know it and all that. in fact, it completely disturbs a majority of canon pokemon concepts. i think thats what makes an original game, stepping out of your boundaries, but knowing your limits. anything aside from that is just plain noobery, lol.

I know where you're coming from. I started out thinking "hey, I'm going to make a game that will blow the community's socks off". But then I took one look at all the complications of making a game, and instantly, on the spot, knew it would be impossible. But then, I had a revelation. I could do it, as long as I had a good team behind me.
One very long week later.......
No team. Just me. I didnt lose hope though. And now, since I stuck it out for so long while still developing my game, it finally paid off. Some of my ideas (yes, a 13 year old kids!) are now being used in a totally revolutionizing game. So now, that kid from only 1 year ago that was so terrible at everything he did, he suddenly jumped back into the world and made it his own.
Oh wait, this is way off topic. Oh well, you now know the story of how my miserable little no-life mind managed to find friends. Heh, memoirs if youve ever seen them........

I actually remember all the games he mentioned. They were amazing. I started one Pokemon game back then that boasted two unique versions, like the original game as well as a reputation and paragon system. Unfortuntly school work overrode the game work and now the computer that the game was being made on is gone.
