I think you need to round the mountains more, because they look to rectangular. Other than that your mapping is great!

Try and get the caves and mountains to look something like this, and the maps would be perfect!

Do the remake first. I'll tell you how to put in the new stuff afterwards. I'm sick of having this game called unoriginal, and Kanto is one of the main reasons for it. That's why we need extra locations.
Pewter City has a river running from the mountains in the Northeast to the south (Route 2, Viridian City, etc.). There should be cliffs and a possible bridge on the Route 3 side, and also a water mill if you can somehow put that in.
Pewter City is larger than Viridian City in terms of area, but because of the rough terrain the population is comparatively sparse and scattered.

The maps look extraordinarily gorgeous. Keep it up, Jonny, and I know you can do even better than this.

Route 3 is a long, horizontal route. There are lots of trees and ledges, but also a significant amount of highland. It could have several entrances to Mt. Moon using caves. You can have a river running through if you want. There's also a Pokémon Center near one of the entrances to Mt. Moon.
In D/P/P, Prof. Oak makes a reference to there being a white rock somewhere in Kanto, most likely on Route 3. You can do whatever you want with this. For example, it can be a small rock colored white or one of those giant meteors you put in Pewter colored white. It's really up to you, and there is no specific place where you have to put it. And no, it's not the same as the giant Moon Stone in the Animé. That will be accessible from inside the cave.
Anyway, making Route 4 start at the exit makes a lot more sense.

I've been ill lately and haven't mapped a lot, but i am going to get on the route 3 and 4, and release them together.
Moose, can you tell em the significance of this 'White rock'?
